Subject: Obama should fight, not fold

Since the election, Republicans are demanding "no compromises." And some
Democrats are telling President Obama to give in, starting with a tax bailout
for millionaires. We're launching a big, ongoing campaign to urge President
Obama to fight back—and give him the grassroots backing he needs to win. Can you

Dear  member,

For two years, Republicans did nothing but obstruct and attack. And now they're
demanding "no compromises" and saying that their #1 priority this year is to
make Obama a one-term president.1

Now more than ever, we need President Obama to fight for average Americans. But
too many Democrats are telling Obama that he needs to cave in and adopt more
Republican policies—starting by giving a huge tax bailout to millionaires.2

That would be a disaster. So we're launching a huge campaign to urge President
Obama not to back down—and also give him the grassroots backing he needs to come
out on top.

To head off the Republican assault, it's going to take a sustained effort—and we
need to know we'll have the resources to pull it off. Can you chip in $15 per

If Obama gives in on the Bush tax cuts, that will only further embolden the
Republicans to demand more—on Social Security, health care reform, and cuts to
everything from PBS to public schools.

To convince Obama to fight, we'll turn out large crowds to rallies and town hall
meetings. If corporate Democrats side with Republicans, we'll light up their
phones like a Christmas tree.

Just as important, we'll give President Obama the political muscle he needs to
win these fights. We'll run ads in key areas that reinforce politically
effective messages, like how we need to invest in jobs for working people, not
bail out millionaires.

And we'll push back against Republican deception and demand that the media stop
treating bald-faced lies like "death panels" as "the other side of the issue."
We'll demand retractions, write letters to the editor, and call for boycotts of
TV stations that put proven liars like Rush Limbaugh and Andrew Breitbart on the
air.

To turn the country around—and win politically—President Obama must fight for
regular Americans, not give in to the Republicans.

But we also can't expect Obama to do it all on his own. Progressives need to
step up and fight too. If you can chip in $15 a month, that will help give us
the resources we need to start this campaign off with a bang and keep it going
as long as it takes. Click here to donate:

Thanks for all you do.
